Sisterly bonding

Yep so today I went for a creambath with my sis, at Johnny Andrean. It was a full hour of blissful head, neck n shoulder massage.. a treat I wouldn't miss everytime I'm back in wonderful GG.. hahaha. \(^o^)/

My dear sis n I are really getting along these days n I'm very happy about that... (part of the reason being she cleverly tricked me into going to the hair saloon without telling me she was gonna spend hours rebonding her hair............-_-............. on one unassuming afternoon I actually sat with her for over 6 hours while three people did her empress-quality hair!!! That was the longest wait of my life i think. But the things we talked about, boy that was worth it~~) n i really hope we can keep it up even when the holidays r over... when i'd be back in sg and she deep into her own business here...

My other sis have always been my dear cheerleader, coach n confidante. The other day we went hunting at the great Rawa Belong flower market at 6 a.m. to catch some amazing roses and gerberas for Christmas flower arrangements, which she did wonderfully right after that. I shd really post the pics here but it's so troublesome transferring from my sony-erricson to my laptop by infrared, n then to this pc that's connected to the net. I'm too much of a lazy ass now, but the pics really are delightful.. maybe later!

Christmas has really brought a lot of love into our hearts.. whatever else is happenning in this world, I wish that we'd always have this treasure in our family.

Yummy soup for the soul? :)

I got this from Melinda through her 'Health-talk' yahoogroups:

Once upon a time...

there was a rich King who had 4 wives.

He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and
treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the
best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to
neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day
she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidante and was always
kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a
problem, he could confide in her to help him get through the difficult
times.

The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great
contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did
not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly
took notice of her.

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short.

He thought of his luxurious life and pondered, "I now have 4 wives
with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you
with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that
I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life.
Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good!
When you die, I'm going to remarry!"

His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and
you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me
and keep me company?"

"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife.
"At the very most, I can only send you to your grave."

Her answer came like a bolt of thunder and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out:

"I'll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go." The King
looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny,
she suffered from malnutrition.

Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better care
of you when I had the chance!"

In Truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives ...

Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish
in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth.
When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have
been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the
grave.

And our 1st wife is our Soul,

often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the ego.
However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go.

So cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now!
It is your greatest gift to offer the world.

Let it Shine!

The Great Pulau Ubin Getaway!

We spent a glorious day cycling our butts off at Pulau Ubin yesterday. Some serious exercise, believe me... especially after half a day of ice skating just the day before! :D It was great fun though, a pretty romantic day away from the routine. And the scenery!! We got to this spot at the end of one bike trail northwest of the island.. and were duly rewarded. The water was so clear we could see tiny fishies chasing each other! Even the clouds are beautiful~~~ :) Posted by Hello

Ubin has a coupla small beaches too, up North. Just before reaching the island, we spotted this little container ship (looks like one to me). Wonder what those green structures on each side of the ship are for??

Did I mention the myriad of interesting creatures n plants on the island? On our way cycling up to the beaches, I spotted this cute plant (anyone knows its name??) in one of the native ppl's garden. Reminds me of lollies!! haha~~~ on second thought, those bright red flowers are smooth n velvety, not unlike a cat's tail... hmmmm.

And then there's the majestic peacock with tail feathers twice as long as its body!! woohoo~~~ he even opened it up for a quick show-off before I could take out my camera... hahaha... must've been just teasing us, since there ain't any female peacocks around!

Here's another one... just before he attacked my canon powershot s400!! **peck!**

Blue's Party Surprise at Suntec

We went to watch Bridget Jones' Diary on Fri nite. The tix were courtesy of EPS, my baby's job agent. They even hosted a buffet dinner for us before the movie! That was pretty nice. I met the chirpiest Chinese gal I've ever seen and she's going to Canada! :D Wish her lots happy days there. :) But before all this excitement... there was this "Blue's Party Surprise" show going on downstairs! Haha.. it was to celebrate his birthday I think.

I'm sure he made so many kids happy that nite! Blue's just oh-so-cute!! And his big blue paws are so adorable! And that quizzical look on his sweet blue face!! (and there seems to be no 'eye holes' for the person inside to look outside!) I used to know this little kid who'd so love to take a photo with Blue... haven't seen him for a long time though. Posted by Hello

Wat's it like to...

Fall down twice on the wet wet ice?? hehee~~~ NO, those butts ain't mine! :D

Baby n I went ice-skating last Saturday in Jurong East. That was fun!! Reminds me of how I used to ice-skate with my friends in Taman Anggrek and MegaMall a few years back. Only much better this time! hahaha.. nothing beats holding ur loved one's hand and sharing the thrill of almost falling down all the time! he was pretty good by the way... very adventurous for sure :) **hugs**  Posted by Hello
